Pinaceae Evergreen Refuge leads us down an acoustic exploration of the Fungal world, from the germination of spores into tiny Hyphae spreading through the soil to form a spore, gently and quitely scrubbing clean the earth from the toxic waste we destroy it with, until forming a pinhead, that then sprouts into a new Mycelium that we recognize as mushrooms and molds, and the cycle begins anew.

"Fungal" is a song for the mushrooms, molds, and yeasts that keep this world going.

A meditation on the earth's fungal beings.
These beings are crucial to the health of the earth's soil and aid in the breakdown of organic material. This meditation came from the hope that the fungal beings will break down the remains of civilization when humanity inevitably extinguishes itself.

When many people look to the stars and see the vastness of the universe, the myths of anthropocentrism and the self-importance of humans and human society begin to dwindle. My hope is that "Fungal" offers some perspective by looking below rather than above, to achieve these same ideas. When thinking about the amount of fungal beings on the earth, their resilience, and their ability to decompose material, civilization begins to feel, to me, very fragile. I sincerely hope and believe that the earth can be beautiful and wild again.

"Fungal" is also an invitation to look within.. to offer the possibility of another world. The wreckage that civilization has caused has been in very physical ways, as seen throughout the entire world. But, civilization has also been detrimental in spiritual ways for the human animal. This psychedelic journey comes with the hope that the listener might have some introspection and to connect with the earth, the soil, and the mycelium, and to find greater meaning in existence.
